Contemporary Extension in Belper

Located in the historic centre of Belper and within a World Heritage Site Buffer Zone, this project replaces a conservatory and brick built lean-to extension with a design that completely transforms the appearance of the building.

Large expanses of glass provide an impressive view over the historic rooftops to the woodland canopy on the hillside. A zinc roof covering allows for a shallow gradient to ensure the new extension 'fits' beneath the existing windows. Large rooflights provide natural light at the back of the rooms and the roof overhang provides solar shading.
